Det var en både lang og ekstremt kold vinter, vi nu var ved at være igennem, og temperaturen havde sneget sig et stykke over frysepunktet. Min nabo, Hans, så trods det spirende forår lidt trist ud, da jeg mødte ham på fortovet udenfor vores boliger for et par uger siden.
Kan du huske, at jeg anlagde en ny sandsten terrasse sidste forår, spurgte han. Det kunne jeg selvfølgelig, for det var ikke mindst min tilsvarende terrassebelægning, der havde inspireret ham til at vælge natursten til terrassen frem for kedelige betonsten.
Nu er de fleste af fliserne ødelagt af frosten, fortalte Hans. De er simpelthen blevet sprængt af den hårde frost, vi har haft her i vinter. Han fortalte, at han havde købt dem i et byggemarked, hvor de havde et godt tilbud på sandsten fliser.
Ja, det er farligt med gode tilbud, for det kan være svært for en ukyndig at se, om der er tale om en ordentlig kvalitet, fortalte jeg ham. Jeg havde nemlig søgt oplysninger, før jeg for to år siden lagde min nye terrasse.

Hans lyttede interesseret til mig, for han havde indtil da ikke været klar over, at man skal se sig godt for med hensyn til kvaliteten af sandsten. Han bad om at få adressen på den netbutik, hvor jeg har handlet, for der er ingen frostskader på min terrasse, så han ville gerne købe nogle sandsten fliser af samme kvalitet som mine.
Jeg fortalte ham, at jeg havde købt mine hos www.lithos.dk, og at jeg har været virkeligt godt tilfreds med mine fliser. Hans var ikke i tvivl om, at han ville købe nye fliser der, for nu havde han og hans kone vænnet sig til det flotte syn af naturstenene på terrassen, så selv om de er en del dyrere end belægningssten af beton, var han ikke i tvivl om, at det skulle være sandsten igen.
Vi talte lidt frem og tilbage om farver, for man kan få den type fliser i flere forskellige nuancer. Jeg foreslog Hans at kigge nærmere på de Sahara sandsten, som findes på den nævnte hjemmeside, for Hans’ hus er bygget i gule mursten, så jeg vil da mene, at sådan nogle sandfarvede fliser vil passe fint til huset.
I dag kunne jeg så konstatere, at Hans har lyttet til min rådgivning, for der har netop været en lastbil og læsset en palle med en pænt stor stak sandsten fliser af i hans indkørsel, og jeg kan se, at der er tale om netop Sahara sandsten, som Hans nu skal i gang med at lægge.
