Så kom udekøkkenet

Måske husker du mit sidste indlæg her på bloggen, måske gør du ikke. Det handlede om, at min kone og jeg havde sat os en række sommerprojekter for. Projekter, som vi skulle arbejde med over sommeren 2012. Et af dem, som vel var det mest ambitiøst – nemlig udekøkkenet, er allerede blevet realiseret til trods for, at den danske sommer endnu ikke er skudt rigtigt i gang.

Sidst, fortalte jeg, at vi planlagde at opføre udekøkkenet selv, og at vi arbejdede på en “kravspecifikation”. Listen over ting, der skulle være i udekøkkenet voksede uge for uge, og til sidst kunne vi godt fornemme, at det blev en anelse overambitiøst at bygge det hele selv.

Derfor allierede vi os med den lokale anlægsgartner, som rent faktisk har specialiseret sig i at opføre specialløsninger på terrassen; herunder, udendørs jacuzzis, fiskebassiner og altså også udekøkkener.

Da vi første gang besøgte anlægsgartneren på hans kontor, var vi selvfølgelig nervøse for, at projektet skulle blive alt for dyrt. Med både grill, stativ, bordplade, kogeplader, vask og vandforsyning kunne vi godt regne ud, at prisen ville overstige budgettet, vi plejer at købe grill for. Samtidig vidste vi også, at en professionel løsning jo holder i mange år, og at pengene muligvis kommer ind, når/hvis vi en dag sælger huset.

Jeg tror på, at et flot og funktionelt udekøkken holder prisen, hvis bare man passer og plejer det korrekt. Vores er overdækket, hvorfor det ikke så gerne skulle gå til i regn og hårde vejrforhold. Til vinter forestiller jeg mig, at vi lukket det ned med en pressenning el.lign. for at skåne det mod frost og kulde, selvom gartneren sagde, at det nu sagtens kan holde til det.

Det første møde hos gartneren gik fint, og allerede samme aften fik vi et tilbud baseret på vores ønsker og behov. Prisen er jeg ikke meget for at fortælle af hensyn til nysgerrige naboer, men den var overhovedet ikke så voldsom, som vi måske havde frygtet. Rent faktisk tog han sig kun betalt for materialer og mandetimer, hvilket jo ikke kan gøres meget mere gennemsigtigt.

Vi havde troet, at han lavede en “pakkeløsning”, således at vi fik prisen på udekøkkenet inkl. montering, og at vi derved også skulle betale for hans “design”. Måske er det helt normalt at gøre det på denne måde, men vi blev ihvertfald positivt overrasket. Grillen med udstyr (rotisserie, gasflasker mv.), vask og kogeplader udgjorde naturligvis størstedelen af regningen, men det havde vi jo også forventet.

I sidste uge begyndte to af gartnerens mænd arbejdet på vores terrasse, og det skulle vise sig at blive et hurtigt visit. Det tog dem nemlig kun to dage at opføre det nye udekøkken, lige som vi ville have det. Grundet almindelig travlhed har vi endnu ikke haft fornøjelsen af at prøve grillen og/eller kogepladerne af, men det får vi forhåbentligt mulighed for, når vi i weekenden får familiebesøg fra Sjælland.

Vi bliver 12 mennesker, så det skal blive spændende at se, om køkkenet kan klare jobbet, og ikke mindst hvad vores gæster siger til det nye vidunder. Jeg glæder mig ihvertfald til at vise det frem 🙂
